Reader Review: Vapour Organic Beauty

One of our readers, Alex,  was inspired by our article about safe cosmetics.  After looking into the ingredients in her beloved make-up she realized that many contained potentially harmful components.

 

Determined to find products that were both safe and performed like their chemically ladened counterparts, Alex did some research and decided to order online from Vapour Organic Beauty.  Check out Vapour’s website and you will find a company committed to producing clean and safe cosmetics.  Their products contain 70% organic ingredients and 30% minerals and vitamins.  Their products do not contain toxic chemicals, parabens, phlatates, gluten, nano particles or irradiation, and they do not test on animals.

 

Alex shared with us the products she ordered and her thoughts and opinions on each.

 

· Stratus Instant Skin Perfector: This is a primer…its great! It makes your skin feel like silk! I bought the stick version because it is supposed to be lighter coverage and I don't like a ton of make-up on my face.

· Atmosphere Luminous Foundation: I love this because it has performed just as well as the not clean BB Cream I was using from Sephora before I switched over. It’s light and goes on very smooth and stays fresh all day.

· Illusionist Concealer: I'm not sure this is totally necessary to buy, but I did anyway! Its a good concealer for days when I'm tired. Again, works just as well as the concealer I was using before.

· Solar Transluscent Bronzer: LOVE!! It is so natural looking.  It gives your face a healthy glow.  I bought "mirage" which is the lightest shade and its actually pretty dark for being the lightest shade, but it blends in perfectly.

· Aura Multi Use Blush (Radiant) in "Whisper": I also love this! It can really go anywhere on your face to give a glow. It has a light shimmer in it and there are two other formulas without shimmer.

· Mesmerize Eye Shadow: This is the only product that I haven't loved. It doesn't stay on very well in my opinion. It also creases. I think I might try a different eye shadow.... I've done some research and have heard good things about Kjaer Weis eyeshadow and that it stays put! I might try that next.

· Mesmerize Eye Liner: Once again, it does not stay put very long but it is a very pretty color and I like the way it looks! I can't decide if I'll stick with this because I love it and then I hate it! Haha!

· Siren Lipstick: This is great! I bought a light pink color called "desire" and have really liked it.

· Trick Stick Highlighter: I don't think this shows up very well. I do like to highlight around my cheeks and nose and I just don't think this one is a good fit for me! RMS supposedly makes an amazing highlighter so I'm definitely going to try it next.

Overall, I've loved Vapour!! I'm definitely going to stick with the primer, foundation, bronzer, and blush. The only things I wouldn't highly recommend are the eye products, only because they don't stay on as well as others.
