The Green and Easy Way to Clean Your Toilet

Have I mentioned that I do not buy ANY commercial cleaning products anymore?  I have only one cleaner in my arsenal, Thieves household cleaner.

Here is my go-to method for cleaning toilets--no harsh chemical cleaners involved!  I sprinkle about an 1/8 cup of baking soda into the toilet and then follow that with several sprays of Thieves cleaner.  I usually let that sit for a few minutes while I clean the tub, sink, or counter top in the bathroom.  I then scrub with my toilet brush and I'm done!  I don't flush the toilet at this point--I let it sit for even more cleaning and deodorizing.  The wonderful smell of the Thieves takes some of the "yuck" out of this chore.

Baking soda's cleaning power is mostly physical.  A mild abrasive, it gently wears away stains.  Baking soda reacts with the grease in stains to form glycerol, a common cleansing ingredient in soaps.  Also, as a weak alkali, baking soda neutralizes acids in odor molecules to eliminate strong smells.

Check out an earlier post on the many wonders of Thieves household cleaner.  During the month of April when you purchase 180 PV from Young Living you receive a bottle of Thieves household cleaner, lemon essential oil, and purification essential oil blend FREE!
