More on Moisturizing with Essential Oils

I grew up in the midwest where our summer's were humid and our winter's mild.  I never struggled with keeping my skin moisturized.  Now in Colorado, I do not think my skin will ever adjust to the dry, dry air and the cold temperatures in winter.  I've turned to essential oils to relieve my dry skin.

When using essential oils to moisturize, tighten, or otherwise support your skin, it is important to mix them with a carrier oil.  My favorite carrier oils of the moment are jojoba and grapeseed oil.  My favorite all over body moisturizer uses a combination of jojoba and grapeseed oils and is perfect for dry winter skin.  I use only Young Living essential oils in my recipes.  I mix this one in a glass spray bottle and keep it in the shower.

Winter Skin Repair Oil
1 tablespoons jojoba oil
1 tablespoons grapeseed oil
4 drops lavender essential oil
2 drops each of ylang ylang, geranium, frankincense essential oil
1-2 drop(s) of  orange essential oil

Not only do these oils repair dry skin, but they are great for relaxation and anxiety relief.  A wonderful treat for your skin and soul!
